Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell (2002)

Maybe a remake is in order?

I remember watching gameplay of the later games and thinking it looked fun, but I wanted to get properly introduced to the Splinter Cell franchise. Starting with the original, I encountered Technical difficulties, jank gameplay and the least useful FN Five-seveN in existence. Thankfully the game was short. I understand the game has really cool tech for the time but, it aged badly in terms of gameplay I would say. I believe the sequels will only go up from here so, there's that to look forward to.

The game's visuals can look amazing at times.

Sup' Baby.

Frances Coen, simple and effective character design.

Your 'second' getaway driver, Frances Coen. I was surprised to not find much written about this character or any artwork featuring her, made me kind of sad to be honest. A character that gets no recognition on the internet, a true side character if you will.

I experienced some audio problems, from low voice volume to loud music. Speaking of music nothing stands out to me except the Common Fight theme. which I enjoyed, especially when it played at the last fight.

Last fight with some Cool bits.

Splinter Cell 1 HD OST - Common Fight.

Well, what do you know? Turns out a remake for the game is in the works! and is scheduled to release sometime in 2025 but, for now if you're actually curious about the original game's story, I recommend watching a Let's Play, at least until the remake comes out.
